Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Special Education Teacher license for the state of Maine is required
- Prior experience working with high school students in a special education setting strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of IEPs, accommodations, and modifications for diverse learners
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff
- Ability to provide engaging, individualized instruction and manage challenging behaviors positively
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person instruction to high school students enrolled in the ESY program
- Collaborate with other educators and related service providers to implement IEP goals
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Participate in planning and team meetings as required
