Key Qualifications:
- Certified as a Special Education Teacher in South Carolina, or in pending status
- Experience teaching in a self-contained LD (Learning Disabilities) classroom strongly preferred
- Skilled in developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and implementing evidence-based instructional strategies
- Ability to foster a supportive, structured educational environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to maintaining compliance with state and federal special education requirements
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with learning disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting
- Develop and monitor IEPs tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
- Differentiate instruction and employ a range of teaching techniques to promote student success
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other professionals
- Collect data and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Participate in parent meetings, IEP team discussions, and professional development opportunities
- Ensure all educational and legal documentation is maintained accurately and confidentially
