Make a meaningful difference as a FOCUS Teacher, supporting elementary students through a dynamic behavior inclusion program for those with disabilities. In this role, you’ll work closely with approximately 12-15 students, promoting positive behavior strategies and providing targeted support throughout the building. As a valued behavior specialist and special education resource, your expertise will help pave the way for lasting growth and achievement.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Certified Special Education Teacher with background in behavior management or as a Behavior Specialist
- Experience working with students with disabilities at the elementary level
- Strong case management skills, including documenting and tracking student progress
- Creative approach to classroom engagement and individualized instruction
- Proficiency in implementing positive behavior intervention plans and redirection strategies
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage behavior inclusion programs for elementary students with disabilities
- Provide case management and maintain accurate records for each student’s progress
- Implement behavior redirection and positive reinforcement techniques in daily activities
- Foster a classroom environment where acceptance, respect, and encouragement are key
- Adapt instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and grade levels
- Communicate regularly with staff and parents to ensure student success
- Remain flexible and responsive to the needs of students and the school community
