Support students and foster growth as a contract Special Education Teacher in a dynamic educational environment near Springfield, MA. This position offers the opportunity to help learners with unique needs reach their fullest potential by developing and implementing individualized instructional plans.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Special Education or related field
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting, especially those with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet student goals and IEP requirements
- Familiarity with behavior management and progress monitoring measures
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with varying disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster an inclusive learning environment
- Modify curriculum and lesson plans to accommodate various learning abilities and styles
- Assess student progress regularly and update IEPs as required
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and parent conferences
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance and reporting purposes
