A full-time Special Education Teacher is needed for the 2026-2027 school year near Sterling Heights, MI on a contract basis. Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teaching License with appropriate MI endorsement
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching in a Special Education classroom (required)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or closely related field
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs effectively
- Strong team player with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Please note: Substitute teaching does not meet the experience requirement
Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction for students with varying disabilities in accordance with IEPs
- Modify curriculum and lessons to accommodate individual student needs
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including parents, administrators, and service providers
- Track and report student progress towards educational goals
- Maintain accurate records and provide updates as required by school and district standards
