With three dedicated paraprofessionals in each setting, teachers receive exceptional classroom support, ensuring optimal student engagement and instruction. No lifting or toileting duties are required.
Current openings include:
- ASD Classroom: Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students on the autism spectrum, supported by a collaborative network of therapists and paraprofessionals.
- Therapeutic Classroom (K–5): Guide students with behavioral and therapeutic needs, designing individualized strategies within a nurturing environment. An average caseload of 10 students ensures you have the focus needed for impactful teaching.
Key qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification
- Previous work with ASD and/or behavioral/therapeutic populations is highly valued
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing IEPs tailored to students’ unique needs
- Partnering with a multidisciplinary team to promote holistic student success
- Creating a positive, structured learning atmosphere
- Utilizing innovative teaching strategies and appropriate behavioral supports
- Maintaining thorough records and consistent communication with families and team members
