Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Teaching Certification
- Prior experience working in special education, especially within elementary grades
- Knowledge of best practices for self-contained classrooms
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to advocating for and supporting students with diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver tailored instruction accommodating the needs of each student
- Create and implement IEPs collaboratively with staff and families
- Monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Foster a classroom environment that is supportive, structured, and engaging
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
