Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Michigan teaching license with a special education endorsement
- Demonstrated experience teaching special education at the middle school level
- Proficiency in developing lesson plans tailored to individual learning needs
- Strong background participating in and leading IEP processes
- Experience supporting students with learning disabilities
- Ability to guide and mentor other special education teachers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with teams and families
Responsibilities Include:
- Leading special education teachers in effective lesson planning and instructional strategies
- Facilitating and participating in IEP meetings, student support sessions, and progress reviews
- Providing consultative services as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC)
- Collaborating closely with general education staff and administration to promote student growth
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting interventions as needed
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal special education guidelines
- Acting as a key resource for strategies to support student engagement and achievement
