Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract assignment this fall. This position is focused on providing specialized instruction and guidance in a structured environment, emphasizing reading intervention and development of executive functioning skills for students in grades 9–12.
You’ll manage a caseload of approximately 16–20 students, delivering targeted support and collaborating with a dynamic educational team. Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule, working from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, from September through Thanksgiving.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program in special education
- Current Minnesota teaching license through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board
- Solid foundation in Standards of Effective Practice and Special Education core competencies
- Specialty credential in an area such as Learning Disabilities, ABS, or EBD
- Successful completion of student teaching or practicum experience
- Preferred experience with high school students, especially in reading intervention and executive functioning
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs within compliance standards
- Strong collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Instruct students in reading intervention and study/executive functioning skills
- Foster growth in academic organization and learning strategies
- Work collaboratively with general education faculty and support teams
- Develop, implement, and monitor progress on IEPs
- Ensure compliance with state and district requirements for special education
