Special Education Teacher - Stillwater, MN
Make a difference supporting high school students by providing specialized educational services in a vibrant community school setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled educator looking to take on a meaningful role, working onsite with grades 9-12. The position runs from August 31, 2026, to June 4, 2027, aligning with a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. You will primarily focus on collaborating with colleagues and offering behavior support while working with an at-risk student population.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education License in EBD, ASD, or ABS
- Prior experience supporting at-risk high school students
- Proven collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
- Expertise in behavior management and support strategies
- Willingness to pursue an Out of Field Licensure Placement if applicable (district support available)
- Enthusiastic about contributing to a positive, student-centered environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to students in grades 9-12 with diverse needs
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere where every student feels valued and supported
- Develop and implement intervention strategies to support positive behaviors
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other specialists
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all IEP requirements
- Regularly communicate progress and concerns to families and staff
- Attend and participate in professional development sessions as required
