Special Education Teacher | Stillwater, Minnesota
Make a meaningful impact working with young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a part-time, contract position near Stillwater, MN. This role centers on supporting students in self-contained classrooms within an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program. Enjoy a collaborative environment with two full-time paraeducators in each classroom, ensuring a strong support system for both student learning and classroom management.
Choose between two flexible workday schedules: Monday through Friday from 8:15 am to 12:15 pm, or a blend of full and half days (Mondays and Wednesdays 8:15 am–4:15 pm, Tuesdays 8:15 am–12:15 pm). Mondays are dedicated to paperwork or meetings, providing necessary time for planning and administrative responsibilities. There is also some opportunity to step in as a float substitute within the ECSE program as needed, adding variety to the role. Possibilities exist for this position to transition to full-time based on program needs.
Qualifications:
- Current Tier 4 Early Childhood Special Education License is required
- Experience in special education classrooms or ECSE settings strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraeducators and other teaching staff
- Creative and compassionate approach to individualized instruction
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to meet student IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with paraeducators to facilitate inclusive learning
- Maintain records and contribute to IEP development and documentation
- Participate in meetings and professional development as needed
- Provide float substitute coverage across ECSE classrooms when available
