Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience in SPED—Intellectual Disabilities (ID) programming preferred
- Familiarity with educational needs of intermediate school-age students (grades 4-6)
- Ability to develop, modify, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work closely with teachers, support staff, and families
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students as outlined in IEPs
- Develop engaging lesson plans tailored for a diverse classroom
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with families and team members
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages skill development and independence
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers to address each student’s needs
