Qualifications:
- Valid and active California Moderate/Severe Special Education teaching credential (required)
- Proven success as a Special Education Teacher (mod/severe) in school settings
- Confidence developing and implementing IEPs for students with significant needs
- Strong collaborative spirit and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practices
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities in alignment with IEP goals
- Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning atmosphere
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing educational planning
- Proactively support social-emotional growth and independence for all learners
