Special Education Teacher Online | Vermont
An opportunity is available for an Elementary Special Education Teacher specializing in K-5 education within a telehealth setting. This contract position involves working remotely with a focus on supporting students with autism and significant behavioral needs. The assignment covers a leave of absence period from October through December.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction and support to a self-contained classroom of five students with autism.
- Collaborating with five assigned paraprofessionals who provide one-on-one assistance to each student.
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique requirements.
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies to promote positive behavioral and academic outcomes.
- Maintaining clear communication with therapists, families, and other educational staff involved in the students' care.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification in Special Education with expertise in K-5 programs.
- Experience working with students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and managing significant behavioral challenges.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with paraprofessionals and professionals across telehealth platforms.
- Strong classroom management skills and adaptability within a remote instructional environment.
