Special Education Teacher Online | District of Columbia

A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in telehealth services, focused on early childhood education within a school setting. This role is based in Washington, DC, and involves supporting students with diverse learning needs through specialized instructional methods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized educational support to students with special needs, primarily within PreK3 to Kindergarten stages.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to conduct lessons and monitor student progress.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Adapt instructional materials to accommodate various learning styles and developmental levels.
• Maintain accurate documentation regarding student performance and behavioral observations.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification or licensure in Special Education.
• Experience working with early years students, particularly PreK3 to Kindergarten.
• Background in the International Baccalaureate (IB) teaching framework is highly desirable.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus but not a mandatory requirement.
• Familiarity with telehealth technology and online instructional delivery.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage remote teaching responsibilities effectively.
