What we’re looking for:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state requirements must be met)
- Experience working in a self-contained classroom or with students with special needs
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Collaborative mindset and openness to feedback
- Adaptability to support diverse learning needs
- Ability to maintain a positive and patient attitude
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and support for students with varying abilities in a self-contained setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Assess students’ strengths and areas for growth, adapting lessons to meet their unique needs
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure well-rounded care and progress
- Maintain detailed and accurate records in accordance with school and district guidelines
- Create an encouraging, safe, and structured classroom that promotes student confidence and independence
This is a full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week), offering the chance to work with an enthusiastic, resourceful team dedicated to making a meaningful impact on students’ lives. The caseload will be confirmed upon assignment.
