Positions available:
- Full-time Learning Specialist (Elementary, mild/moderate needs)
- Full-time Affective Needs Specialist (High School, affective/behavioral focus; lead a small team of paraprofessionals)
What you'll need to succeed:
- Valid CO DOE Teacher license with Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement
- Proven background in Special Education teaching; autism experience required for the high school assignment
- Familiarity (for high school role) with CPI, de-escalation strategies, ABA principles, and special ed math
- Experience with FBA and BIP development strongly preferred
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and guide paraprofessionals
- Flexibility and collaborative spirit to fit well with supportive school personnel
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction supporting students' IEP goals
- Employ evidence-based behavioral interventions and support plans
- Partner closely with therapists, psychologists, and other school staff
- Maintain accurate and timely student documentation in compliance with district standards
- Lead and mentor paraprofessionals as needed
The contract offers a structured schedule (37.5 hours weekly), giving you stability throughout the academic year.
