Special Education Teacher | Tinley Park, Illinois

As an onsite Special Education Teacher, you’ll work closely with a self-contained elementary caseload, planning and delivering individualized instruction and interventions. Your expertise will help students achieve their academic and life skill goals and foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid LBS1 and Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students in special education
- Strong commitment to differentiated instruction and individualized learning plans
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Dedication to fostering a supportive, positive classroom community
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing, adapting, and implementing lesson plans targeting both academic and life skills
- Creating a safe and engaging classroom environment for all learners
- Collecting data and monitoring student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborating with fellow educators, support staff, and families
- Providing direct instruction, behavioral support, and accommodations to meet students’ unique needs
- Participating in IEP meetings and maintaining effective documentation
