Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher (state-specific credentials as required)
- Proven experience working with students with multiple disabilities, ideally in a K-8 setting
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, especially with support staff and families
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills
- Compassionate, patient, and innovative in your teaching approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver lesson plans individualized to students’ IEPs and learning abilities
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive environment for all students
- Supervise, guide, and collaborate with paraprofessionals and the LPN to ensure consistent support and optimal student care
- Track student progress and adapt instruction as needed, maintaining clear documentation
- Communicate regularly with families and other professionals about student achievements and needs
Schedule and Environment:
- Enjoy a consistent Tuesday through Friday workweek, 6:30am–3:30pm, with one Thursday extending to 4:30pm
- Engage in meaningful, hands-on teaching with a manageable class size, allowing for genuine connections and deep learning
