Step into an impactful role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher at the elementary (K-2) level for two open, full-time contract positions. This onsite opportunity runs 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30AM to 4PM, with no accommodations for alternative schedules. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through June 10, 2027. You’ll work in a supportive educational environment, striving to empower students’ growth and success every day.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid active certification/licensure appropriate for managing an elementary special education caseload
- Bachelor’s degree required (to obtain emergency teaching permit if needed)
- Previous school-based experience, especially within urban settings
- Mastery of relevant subject matter, instructional skills, and educational resources
- Reliable transportation to consistently meet onsite requirements
- Proficient in classroom management and behavioral intervention strategies
- Comfort and adaptability within district policies and the local environment
- Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards
- Differentiate instruction based on the needs of individual students
- Use formative assessments to guide instructional decisions
- Foster a positive learning environment and manage classroom behaviors effectively
- Collaborate with staff and families to support student achievement
