Key Qualifications:
- Holds an active special education teaching certification or licensure for the appropriate caseload
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required (necessary for emergency teaching permit eligibility)
- Prior experience in a school setting, especially within urban environments
- Demonstrates mastery of special education subject matter, instructional methods, and available teaching resources
- Adept at developing engaging lesson plans aligned with current state and district guidelines
- Strong skills in classroom and behavioral management
- Ability to differentiate instruction and utilize formative assessment
- Reliable transportation needed
- Able to work onsite, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM (no schedule accommodations)
- Must complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement instructional activities tailored to meet the needs of individual K-2 students
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Collaborate with educational team members and families to support student success
