Make a positive impact as a contract special education teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! This position supports young learners in a dynamic environment, working with early childhood and elementary-aged students. You’ll play a key role in providing individualized instruction and fostering growth for students in self-contained and specialized preschool classrooms.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- South Carolina teaching license in Special Education (active and in good standing)
- BOTH Special Education and Early Childhood degree certification required for the EC PCD Teacher (3-4 year olds) role
- SPED Multi-Categorical endorsement for the K-3 ID Mild/Moderate, self-contained classroom
- Previous experience in special education or early childhood settings preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to meet students’ diverse needs
- Develop lesson plans, IEPs, and collaborate with service providers and families
- Foster an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere
- Monitor student progress and document achievements and challenges
- Work on-site during regular school hours (37.5 hours per week)
- Adapt teaching methods and materials for various student abilities
