Special Education Teacher in Warwick, RI

You’ll be assigned to a single school and work with less than eight students per class, alongside an impressive 1:3 teacher-assistant ratio. The school is committed to your ongoing professional growth, offering extensive training throughout the year. Whether you hold a mild-moderate or severe Special Education license in RI or MA, your expertise will help make a profound impact.
Qualifications:
- Active Special Education license in Rhode Island (RI); mild-moderate or severe considered
- Previous experience or a strong passion for supporting students with developmental disabilities
- Comfortable working with elementary-aged children (grades 3-4)
- Collaborative mindset; able to work constructively with Teacher Assistants and staff
- Commitment to continual learning and professional development
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans focusing on each student’s needs
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment where young learners can thrive
- Adapt instruction and strategies to promote engagement and growth for students with unique learning profiles
- Collaborate with school staff and participate in regular team meetings
- Document student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
