Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state requirements must be met)
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; Master’s preferred
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, especially those with Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for coordinating with support staff and parents
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability in modifying instruction and materials
- Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and IEP implementation
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
- Implement evidence-based strategies to support students’ academic and social progress
- Foster a nurturing, structured classroom environment that encourages engagement and independence
- Collaborate closely with speech, occupational, and behavioral therapists
- Communicate progress and updates to parents, caregivers, and other educational professionals
- Maintain accurate records and compliance with all reporting and documentation requirements
