Special Education Teacher - Warwick, RI
Step into a meaningful role supporting students with high functional life skills in a dynamic elementary school setting. As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll be instrumental in providing individualized instruction and guidance during an extended leave coverage. With a supportive classroom team of three teaching assistants and a manageable caseload of around eight students, you’ll foster growth and confidence in learners who benefit from structure and encouragement.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Special Education Educator Certificate
- Experience working with special education students, particularly those with high functional life skills
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff and administration

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lesson plans targeting individual student needs
- Assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly
- Work in close collaboration with teaching assistants to provide consistent, high-quality support
- Ensure compliance with all special education IEP requirements and documentation
- Foster a classroom atmosphere where every student feels safe and valued
The assignment runs full-time from mid-October to mid-January, aligning with typical school hours—Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance and a mid-day break.
