6th Grade 8th Grade Special Education Teacher | Warwick, Rhode Island

Your day will run from 7:30 AM to 2:15 PM, giving you consistent routine while providing ample time for lesson planning and work-life balance. The primary focus is on special education inclusion—pushing into academic classes to provide differentiated instruction and support, plus a small caseload of targeted pull-out sessions for both academic help and multilingual learner (MLL) support.
We're especially interested in educators who possess a Special Education certification, and an English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement is highly desired. Your expertise and empathy will be critical in helping all students reach their full potential.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Special Education teaching certification (required)
- ESL endorsement preferred
- Experience working in middle school settings
- Ability to engage and support students in grades 6-8
- Strong collaboration skills with general education teachers
- Adaptable, resourceful approach to instruction and behavior management
Responsibilities:
- Push-in to inclusive classrooms, delivering academic interventions
- Lead targeted pull-out groups for academic or MLL support
- Maintain accurate IEP documentation and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff
- Communicate regularly with families and guardians
