Special Education Teacher - Waterbury, Connecticut
Step into an impactful role serving students with diverse learning needs as a Special Education Teacher on a full-time contract. This position offers the opportunity to work across a range of programs, including Pathways (serving students with multiple disabilities), KEY (Autism-focused), and inclusive classroom environments, making every day unique and meaningful. With placements available for K-12, you’ll be able to apply your expertise where it’s needed most while collaborating with a supportive educational community.
This contract position begins as soon as possible and runs through June 11, 2027. Each week, you’ll dedicate 35 hours to making a difference, working alongside other passionate professionals. Multiple openings are available, offering the chance to grow in your career and broaden your classroom experience.
Qualifications:
- Current and active Special Education licensure and certification in Connecticut
- Solid background in school-based special education environments
- Experience working with students in Pathways, KEY, and diverse inclusion program settings
- Proven ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Reliable professional references ready to provide verification of experience
- Comfortable participating in a virtual interview via Zoom
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction to K-12 students with varying needs
- Differentiate curriculum and adapt learning strategies to meet diverse student abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Maintain thorough documentation and timely progress reporting
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom culture
