Key Qualifications:
- Active New York State Special Education Teaching license, including current endorsements/certifications relevant to secondary education
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with high school or ED populations
- Extensive knowledge of differentiated instruction, IEP implementation, and classroom management
- Strong collaboration skills with colleagues, support teams, and families
- Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction for students with Emotional Disabilities (ED) in grades 11-12
- Develop, monitor, and assess IEP goals in compliance with state requirements
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth and achievement
- Collaborate with classroom aides, related service providers, and administrators for optimal student outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation, attend IEP meetings, and communicate progress to families and team members
