Key Qualifications:
- Active New York State teaching license with a High School endorsement
- Certified for work in an ED classroom setting
- Experience teaching or substituting in a Special Education high school classroom
- Familiarity with strategies for supporting students with a variety of learning and behavioral needs
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction to 11th and 12th-grade students in a high school ED classroom
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individuals’ educational goals
- Foster a structured, positive environment that encourages academic and personal growth
- Collaborate with support staff, including Teacher’s Assistants as needed
- Maintain records of student progress and communicate regularly with staff and families
