Special Education Teacher | West Chester, Pennsylvania

Step into a rewarding full-time role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher at both elementary and middle school levels. This onsite contract position offers five openings—four in elementary settings and one in a middle school—providing opportunities to bring your expertise and passion to a vibrant, diverse community. You’ll work 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30AM to 4PM, beginning August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree required (for eligibility for emergency teaching permit)
- Active Pennsylvania certification or licensure appropriate for caseload
- Demonstrated mastery of special education subject matter and instructional methods
- Strong classroom management and behavioral management abilities
- Previous experience working within school environments, with preference given to those with urban setting experience
- Reliable transportation to and from the school
- Ability to complete and maintain all required Pennsylvania clearances
- Comfort with district and location expectations
- Availability to work onsite with no schedule accommodations
- Readiness for a virtual interview process via Zoom
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state and district standards
- Use formative assessments and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learners’ needs
- Employ a range of instructional resources and strategies to maximize student engagement
