Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher certification and licensure (required)
- Proven experience in school-based special education settings
- Expertise with students in self-contained, autism-focused, and inclusion classroom environments
- Comfortable working with a broad range of grade levels (K-12)
- Ability to furnish professional references during the application process
- Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Design, adapt, and deliver instruction for students with a wide array of learning profiles
- Assess student needs and progress using data-driven tools and methods
- Collaborate with general and special educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Differentiate curriculum and interventions to ensure meaningful, inclusive participation
- Foster a positive, safe, and supportive classroom culture that values diversity
- Participate in professional development and team meetings as needed
