Special Education Teacher - West Warwick, Rhode Island

Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification from the RI Department of Education as an All Grades Special Education - Severe Intellectual Disabilities Teacher
- Experience working with elementary age students in a self-contained or severe profound classroom preferred
- Deep understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional strategies
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and families
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with severe intellectual disabilities, tailoring approaches to individual goals
- Assess student strengths and needs, adapting resources and lesson plans accordingly
- Implement and monitor IEPs, documenting progress and providing updates
- Work closely with other staff to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
- Maintain accurate records and provide clear communication with families
