Key Qualifications:
- Active Michigan Special Education teaching license with CI (Cognitive Impairment) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement
- Experience teaching in elementary or special education settings preferred
- Ability to differentiate instruction and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and educational team members
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with varying needs in ASD and CI classrooms and a resource room
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure educational progress
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individualized goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Maintain accurate records, complete assessments, and communicate regularly with families
- Foster a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment for all students
