Special Education Teacher - Westland, Michigan

Key Qualifications:
- Must hold an active Michigan Special Education teaching license with CI (Cognitive Impairment) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement
- Previous experience teaching in a self-contained ASD or CI classroom or resource room preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to individual student needs in ASD and CI elementary rooms as well as a resource setting
- Develop, modify, and implement IEPs in close collaboration with team members and families
- Utilize data-driven strategies to assess student progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom environment that emphasizes growth and success for all learners
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other educational professionals to share progress and maintain student-centered plans
