We're seeking skilled Special Education Teachers to provide vital support across classrooms in Carbon and Lehigh Counties for the upcoming school year. This in-person, contract-based opportunity offers a dynamic, engaging environment where your expertise is highly valued.
You’ll serve as an itinerant teacher, supporting various sites to cover absences and extended leaves. On days when no specific site coverage is needed, you’ll be assigned to one of the intermediate unit’s many classrooms, offering flexibility and variety in your daily experience.
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania teaching license
- Valid PA PDE Certification as follows:
- Experience-Based Certificate in Special Education PK-12, and/or
- Instructional I/II Certificate in relevant Special Education subject areas
- Demonstrated experience with students in special education environments
- Experience in IEP development and implementation
- Willingness to work in-person only
- Ability to provide proof of licensure and certification via TIMS
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse needs
- Step into classrooms within Carbon or Lehigh Counties to cover both short-term and extended staff absences
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with school teams to implement and develop IEPs according to best practices
- Adapt to various school settings with professionalism and flexibility
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication with school staff
