As an in-person Exceptional Children (EC) educator, you will have the unique opportunity to split your time between a middle school and a high school, championing inclusion and resource needs in dynamic classroom settings. Dedicate 35 hours each week to guiding students toward their academic and personal best.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid North Carolina Teaching License (Middle/High)
- Strengths in collaborative teamwork and flexibility
- Experience in inclusion/resource special education settings is highly desirable
- Confidence implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting curriculum
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to maintaining a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as an EC teacher between both a middle and high school, supporting diverse learners
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure each student receives customized support
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, aides, and administration to foster inclusion
- Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to accommodate and engage all students
- Provide targeted intervention, resource instruction, and positive behavioral supports
- Regularly communicate progress and collaborate with families and staff
