Requirements for success in this position:
- Active Delaware Special Education Teaching license (PDF copy required with your application)
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially those with autism, preferred
- Understanding of individualized education program (IEP) development and implementation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff and families
- Ability to cultivate a positive and structured learning atmosphere
- Candidates must be willing to pay $85 for CBC fingerprinting and agree to this requirement prior to application
Key responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging lessons, tailored to the needs of students with autism
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as necessary
- Develop, review, and update IEPs in partnership with team members and families
- Foster social, emotional, and academic growth within an inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and support personnel
