This rewarding, full-time opportunity near Wilmington, DE, runs 35 hours per week (8:15 AM to 3:45 PM) from as soon as you’re available through the end of the school year. You’ll support a small group of students within a resource room ("B setting"), providing targeted, part-time pull-out services designed to foster academic, social, and emotional growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education required
- Experience teaching K-1 or early elementary preferred
- Expertise in individualized instruction and differentiated lesson planning
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and case management
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and fellow educators
- Ability to create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction to a group of 4 students in the resource room
- Provide part-time, pull-out academic and behavioral support aligned with each child’s IEP
- Conduct thoughtful progress monitoring and data collection on student outcomes
- Develop and adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Attend IEP meetings and support the creation/management of relevant documentation
- Potentially handle additional case management as new students are added
