Make a meaningful impact working with young learners as a dedicated Special Education Teacher in a contract role supporting pre-school students. This unique position is based near York, PA, providing services throughout the Hanover region and parts of Adams County. You’ll serve as an itinerant educator, traveling between multiple locations and bringing specialized support to children with diverse learning needs, with your home base at a central location.
Your expertise in early childhood and special education will shine as you collaborate with families and educators to create the best learning environment possible. Enjoy a consistent Monday-Friday schedule from July 1, 2026, through September 11, 2026, working 8:00AM – 3:30PM.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Special Education (required with submission)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, ideally with pre-school-aged children
- Must possess reliable transportation and willingness to travel between multiple sites throughout the workday
- Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to adapt to varied educational settings and student needs
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with staff, families, and agency representatives
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction to pre-school students with special needs according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Travel between assigned sites and provide on-site and itinerant services as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and timely reporting in compliance with state and program guidelines
- Engage in team meetings, IEP conferences, and consult with families and professionals to maximize student progress
