Exciting opportunities are available for passionate Special Education Teachers for the upcoming 26/27 school year! We are seeking dedicated educators to fill four full-time contract roles in a supportive school environment near Accomac, VA. Flexible placement options include two elementary (K-5) inclusion positions, one elementary (K-5) self-contained role, and one middle school (grades 6-8) inclusion position. Each position offers excellent para support, fostering a collaborative and enriching setting for both educators and students.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Previous experience in an inclusion or self-contained classroom setting preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
- Passion for nurturing growth and supporting student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to IEP goals and individual learner profiles
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and structured class environment
- Engage families and guardians in the educational process
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Create a welcoming, respectful classroom climate
