Special Education Teacher - Allentown, Pennsylvania

Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year! Multiple dynamic contract opportunities are available for passionate educators dedicated to supporting learners at various stages. We are seeking six professionals: one to provide Autistic Support at the elementary level, one for Learning Support at the middle school, and four for Learning Support roles at the high school level.
Teachers will work a consistent 35-hour week from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, following building-specific schedules (Elementary: 8:15 am–3:45 pm; Middle: 7:15 am–2:45 pm; High: 7:13 am–2:43 pm).
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate required by the start date (emergency permit sponsorship available)
- Experience in special education settings strongly preferred
- Ability to work effectively across a variety of student needs and academic levels
- Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with student abilities and goals
- Use evidence-based instructional strategies tailored to support learning differences
- Monitor student progress, maintain records, and adapt teaching methods as needed
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Provide classroom management and a nurturing space to ensure student growth
