We are seeking an experienced educational professional to serve as an itinerant behavioral specialist for K–12 students across multiple school sites, providing targeted interventions, coaching, and collaboration to build positive student outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
- Current Kansas State Teaching License with appropriate endorsement (special education preferred)
- Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and designing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Background providing direct support to students with behavioral and social-emotional needs within a school setting
- Skill in crisis intervention, data-driven decision-making, and implementing research-based behavioral interventions
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, parents, and other support staff
- Additional licensure in school psychology, social work, or school counseling is highly valued
- Experience as a behavior specialist, BCBA, or similar school-based role preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver behavioral support services for a K–12 caseload, traveling between multiple districts
- Conduct FBAs and develop, monitor, and implement comprehensive BIPs
- Provide coaching and consultation to school teams and staff on evidence-based strategies
- Lead crisis intervention efforts and support staff with de-escalation techniques
- Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success
- Document progress and maintain detailed intervention records using data-driven practices
