Special Education Teacher - Anaheim, California

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with moderate to severe needs. This full-time contract position, based in the Mission Viejo area, is available to cover a maternity leave from August 2024 through December 2026. Work within a dedicated team and help make a difference for students while enjoying robust professional support.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and active CTC Certification in Moderate/Severe Special Education (must have Mod/Sev credential)
- Experience working with moderate to severe special education caseloads strongly preferred
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, families, and related service providers
- Effective classroom management and engagement strategies tailored to diverse student abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction adapted to individual learning needs for students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Develop, monitor, and modify IEPs to ensure academic, social, and behavioral growth
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other staff to support student success
- Maintain accurate records and stay in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines
- Engage in regular family communication to foster a supportive educational environment
