Special Education Teacher - Rosamond, CA
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary and middle school students across two sites in the Lancaster region. This rewarding, full-time contract position is designed to fill an itinerant RSP (Resource Specialist Program) role, providing vital coverage during a medical leave. The assignment is set for a minimum of eight weeks, beginning in mid-August, with the possibility of extension.
Your primary focus will be working with a caseload of 28 students, helping to ensure continuity of support across both elementary and middle school populations. This rover opportunity allows for engaging workdays full of variety and the chance to collaborate with diverse educators while making a difference for students with special learning needs.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential (required)
- Previous experience with elementary and/or middle school students preferred
- Ability to adapt lessons and supports to meet individual IEP goals
- Strong communication and organization skills; comfortable working between multiple school sites
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and services to a roster of 28 students as an itinerant RSP teacher
- Travel between two designated schools, collaborating with staff and families
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction based on student needs
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and communication logs
