Special Education Teacher in Elk River, MN

This contract opportunity is based in a dedicated center program and is ideal for educators who are passionate about working with students with developmental and cognitive delays.
This is a full-time, onsite position beginning in late August 2026 and running through early June 2027, operating Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
- Experience or specialized training in special education, specifically supporting students with developmental and cognitive delays
- Strong ability to differentiate instruction and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, parents, and support professionals
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to each student's unique needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff to provide consistent, high-quality services
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Foster a safe and nurturing classroom atmosphere promoting positive behavior
- Effectively communicate with families about goals, milestones, and student development
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
