High School Special Education Teacher

As a High School Special Education Teacher, you will work alongside general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to create meaningful educational experiences that support each student's unique strengths and needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that promote student growth and achievement.
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with state standards and individualized student goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive classroom practices and accommodations.
- Monitor student progress using data-driven instructional strategies and adjust interventions as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, transition planning, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Foster a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages independence, self-advocacy, and life skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
- Partner with families and school staff to support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Arizona Special Education teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Experience working with high school students preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development, transition planning, and evidence-based instructional practices.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and collaboration skills.
- Passion for helping students reach their full potential and prepare for life after graduation.
