Special Education Teacher | Arlington Heights, Illinois

With a start date of August 11th, you’ll serve as an LBS1 Teacher, guiding 2nd and 3rd graders with a focus on individualized instruction and social-emotional development.
What we’re seeking:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
- Autism endorsement or hands-on experience working with students on the autism spectrum is highly preferred
- Background or comfort with self-contained classroom settings
- Strong classroom management and collaborative skills
- Dedication to evidence-based teaching strategies and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Passion for nurturing student strengths and facilitating communication with families and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement specialized instruction for a small group of 2nd and 3rd grade students with autism
- Develop and monitor progress on IEPs, adjusting goals and approaches as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with paraeducators, therapists, and related services to maximize student success
- Maintain open, ongoing communication with parents and guardians
- Participate in school-based meetings, team planning, and ongoing professional development
