Special Education Teacher - Arlington, Texas
In this rewarding contract position, you'll play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs near Arlington and Fort Worth, TX. As a Special Education Teacher, your expertise will help shape positive educational outcomes, whether you’re placed at an elementary or secondary campus. Schedules may vary slightly depending on transportation logistics—elementary teachers typically work from 7:10 to 3:45; secondary teachers from 7:40 to 4:15. Exact campus times may shift by a few minutes.
With full-time hours in a collaborative school environment, you’ll have the chance to customize instruction for a varied caseload, matched to your experience and campus placement.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate issued by SBEC, with assignment-appropriate certification
- Beginning September 1, 2025: Special Education EC–12 certificate or compliance with current SBEC rules
- Previous experience in special education preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom community
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with a range of learning needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Partner with families, support staff, and administrators for holistic student support
- Monitor student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Participate in ARD meetings, professional development, and ongoing team collaboration
