Key Requirements:
- Active Georgia Special Education teaching license with relevant endorsements required.
- Adaptive SPED Certification for North Jackson Elementary (serving as an Autism Level 3 self-contained classroom teacher).
- SPED General Curriculum Certification for West Jackson Middle School (serving as a self-contained ASD Level 1 or Adaptive MI/MO teacher).
- Experience working with students who have high physical and academic needs preferred.
- Ability to develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction in a self-contained classroom setting, using appropriate adaptations and accommodations.
- Develop and update student IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Foster a supportive, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
- Manage student behaviors and maintain a safe classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and caregivers to ensure a holistic approach to student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate updates to parents and the educational team.
