Special Education Teacher in Auburn, WA

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Washington State Special Education Teacher License and Certification (required)
- Ability to obtain or willingness to obtain fingerprint clearance through OSPI
- Experience delivering individualized instruction and accommodations in special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEPs and differentiated instructional strategies
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Effective communication skills to engage with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Instruct students in a Learning Resource Center (LRC1) at the elementary level, tailoring support based on individual education plans
- Design, implement, and modify curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Track and report on student progress, maintaining necessary records in compliance with district and state requirements
- Cultivate positive relationships with students and their families
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and motivating classroom climate
